I just thought of a au where all the Batkids are kind of like mob bosses but more in a “Red hood/kill the bad people in the city but leave the not so horrible ones to reform” way. But Bruce is good dad Bruce that love his kids and is a normal civilian that still has training form ether Alfred or still when on the travel the world training thing. But did not become Batman and is like the Batfamily webtoon Bruce. In which he is sweet and calls his kids nicknames just being a good dad/person.
Wether Bruce knows what his kids are doing is up to anyone to interpret but I think it is funny either way because the Batkids are in the living room talking about some plan then Bruce comes in and is like: Hello Jason, Dick, Damian, Tim, Cass, Steph, Duke (did I forget any base kids?) while giving them a kiss on their head. Goes and gets something and while he is leaving he hears “Thank goodness we switch to a different topic before he can in” and Bruce just smiles because he knows but does not want to put them out there.

I love when Bruce calls his kids sweetheart. Because Bruce in all his English influenced life would go to his sad kid and say, “ How are you doing sweetheart?” Then the bat kid would most likely not want to talk so he would say something like, “Ok, sweetheart how about we go get you a choccy?”
Because Bruce is not good at talking about feeling or thoughts but he will try for his kids and he is a good father dang it. Plus Alfred has raised that man like an old English baby and you can tell.

So I’ve been introduced to the “Blinky is Jim’s biological dad” AU and I fell in love with the idea of Blinky showing up as a John Doe at the same hospital Barbara is working at. They meet here and there as the hospital monitors and tries to figure out what to do with him since he has no memory of where he’s from and no one has claimed to know him.
He takes on the name James Lake and gets settled into a new life in Arcadia. Barbara becomes a dear friend to him and she frequently comes over to try his cooking (a hobby he picks up after he becomes enamored with food and flavors). Within a couple years they’re married with a beautiful little boy.
When James disappears on Jim’s fifth birthday, Barbara’s conflicted. Part of her wants to be angry at him for up and leaving while another part of her wonders if his memories came back and he left to return to his old life. Or maybe he went out and something happened that made him lose himself, again, and now he’s wondering around some other place with no idea he has a wife and son waiting for him. Regardless of why he disappeared, it’s still heartbreaking and hardly makes it any easier when he shows up in her house years later acting like he doesn’t know what his own name is or that Jim’s his son.
Other thoughts on this AU:
I like the “Jim shows certain troll-like traits as he grows up like clinging to his parents and eating questionable items” thing
Jim decides one Halloween to be a troll warrior and Blinky helps him make his costume. He adds the extra arms even though he can’t for the life of him remember seeing trolls depicted like that in any of the shows Jim watches or the books they read to him
When he first wakes up, Blinky has a strange appetite that, like in the show, causes him a lot of stomach issues. After he’s introduced to better foods, he decides he’ll occupy his time with exploring recipes and flavors
One day Aaarrrgghh catches Blinky’s scent and follows it back to the Lake home. He inherently knows that the man in the window is Blinky - the scent leads to him and the voice matches perfectly to his friend. He doesn’t tell anyone in Troll Market nor does he interfere with the life Blinky has seemingly made for himself. Instead, he watches over the family even after Blinky returns to troll form
Blinky doesn’t really question why Aaarrrgghh makes a point to check up on this one specific human family and after a couple visits he elects to leave his friend to it on his own. The larger troll never explains his attachment to them, but Blinky trusts his friend has his reasons
When Blinky is turned back into a human and Barbara reveals who he was before, he ends up staying with Jim and Barbara in hopes of awakening some of his memories. It works, gradually, and he and Barbara are able to rekindle their relationship
Instead of Jim simply taking Blinky back to Troll Market when he pauses time, he brings both his parents back to his house - they’re gonna have to tell his mom the truth eventually and she already saw the transformation.

So you know how there are some fic where Percy classmates read the Percy Jackson books? Ya, I would absolutely love if there was one where the whole world finds out, and you can have Percy being the leader with Annabeth, people in power questioning what the hell’s going on and them being concerned, not about the child soldier thing, but more about how Percy and Annabeth interact as they are the leaders of this really high powered “race” or “new/different” humans (Demigods). Also most of the wars were because of Demigods. And them somehow having to on live TV or something international TV maybe read the Percy Jackson books aloud.
Also, the bombshell of multiple pantheons people questioning history. All of this would be amazing. I feel like people would be questioning some things that happened and also figuring out that Heracles is still alive and how horrible he is that would be fun.
PS: Hercules is Roman and Heracles is actually Greek name for Hercules. I found out some people don’t know this but you realize his name is because Zeus wanted to name him a name that would please Hera and his name is said as HERA-cles (HERA-q-leas)

Ugh scenarios where Bruce is literally suicidal, and has made many attempts, but keeps getting interrupted by his kids and alfred but they don't realise what he was going to do?and they don't know his mental state was that bad?? Sign me up cause I fucking love angst and hurt/comfort
13 yr old Bruce about to slit his throat in the bathroom, but alfred comes out of nowhere and tells him dinner is ready, he made his favourite cause he saw he looked off recently, and Bruce just goes out calmly and hugs him super tight?? Bruce, about to make a decision to end his life after he's all done raising dick (after he becomes nightwing) and knows that dick is set on the right path now and going to crime alley where his parents were shot to end it but ends up meeting jason instead?? After jason when he tied up all loose ends, closed cases, secured gotham good enough, About to go on patrol for one last time, then after he'll jump off, but then meets tim that evening saying he knows who he is?? Meeting cass just when he was planning to do it cause he genuinely hated himself, but seeing so many similarities between him and cass, knowing she sees them too and scared that after he suicides she'll get those ideas too cause they're so similar? Decides to try to help her?? Meeting nightwing when he was going to jump off cause dick wanted to surprise him from blud and he just thought Bruce was brooding?? getting a call from Damain in the middle of the day when he was about to stage a car crash and listens as damian (mad at him) asks him to come to the school to pick him up cause he got suspended for 2 days for knocking out a student for being racist.
CAN U IMAGINE A CONFRONTATION WHERE BRUCE THOUGHT THEY ALREADY KNEW?? AND HES TAKING THIS CASUAL BUT THEYRE FUCKING NOT??

So the fix is that Bruce got hit with a truth serum that kind of just makes Bruce say the first thing that come to mind. So Jason still convinced that Bruce hates him asks Bruce what he thinks of him. Bruce answers like this: (be warned I do not remember how it went exactly)

Bruce: Baby
Jason convinced that Bruce that some how found a way around the serum: What about Dick?!?!

About Bruce's communication problem
As a non-diagnosed Autistic person with friends that are diagnosed I feel I have some ground to say that Bruce is autistic and has a hard time communicating like me on some days. So when he talks about emotions they are private moments between him and his kid that he is talking to. Maybe it is not his kids is his co-worker (friend) from the JLA, Jim Gorden (friend), Babs (pseudo daughter),Lucios Fox (friend), Alfred (the man he thinks of as a father).
Please remember that no one person is the same and this is only partly my opinion and that you can agree or disagree with me but there is no reason to comment hate.

What if Bruce went on the whole training thing but decided that he would not be Batman maybe because he adopted Dick or thought it would be a bad idea and then got all his kids. But they do not know that their dad has this kind of training and they become vigilanties on their own. He could know or he could not know. Maybe he finds out after and decided not to tell them he knows. Maybe he do or does not know and sometimes goes out as Batman on rare occasions and he is more of a myth then anything. Maybe he becomes the Mayor stopping the crimes and criminals while also using Wayne interprises to fund building projects and funding the prison so criminals STAY in prison.
Picture this Tim finds out Dick is Robin like originally and thinks that Bruce is Batman. But Tim confronts Dick and Dick tells him that Bruce is not Batman and that he is only a civilian and has no idea of what Dick is doing.
Damian coming on to the scene and the Batkids find out about Bruce's training from Talia telling them why/how Damian was made because that is their loving father who would not hurt a fly and is scared of bats. What do you mean he's a brilliant detective of course he's smart but he's not a detective and he certainly has not been trained?
Or maybe Damian is confused but after seeing how Bruce treats his adopted "siblings" maybe mother ment he has a strong heart and he desideds that he will protect his father with his life because he has too soft of a heart to be able to survive Gotham of all places..right?
Jason coming back to life but instead of hating Bruce he misses him because it's his dad. He could not do anything he is a civilian he was in Gotham sleeping when Jason died and did not know what happand till later.
He is their dad that while he is a bit emotionally constipated sure.But was always there for them he read them Bedtime Stories, he held them when they had nightmares,never pushing them to tell him what they were about, he was always there for their compatitions, games, gymnastic lessons,art shows,writing,school plays and the first to be at the photograghy award ceramonys, always apologizing if he missed any or even if he was a little late.

We NEED to talk about the stuff Alfred has done.
I love Alfred ok he is the only one in the Batfam with a brain cell but really people gloss over what he did that efected Bruce and Jason's relationship. Is it all his falt? HELL NO there is so much in there that needed to be unpacked but I want ONE fanfic where Jason finds out some of the thing he is angry at Bruce about is not his falt. Like the "Good Soldier" plaque that ALFRED put up. Granted it was for a sweet moment in the comics that was between them but still "Good Soldier" really?
And about Bruce moving on to fast from Jason's death. Yes, Tim was trying to help. Yes Alfred was also trying to help but Tim is a 11 year old child that ran after Batman starting at 8 years old and had barily any idea of what a normal childhood should look like. Alfred is the adult in this situation. Dick is also to blame for why Tim was robin. Like Bruce was STILL RECOVERING from his SON'S DEATH and they give ANOTHER child the idea that "Yes you can be robin the exact thing his son died with" to a stubern CHILD that is Batman did not train would go out and get himself killed in the same suit as his child.
I see people tend to also not agnolge Jason trama from his parents yes some talk about Wilis abuse of Jason but what about Cathrean. The comic book writers make Jason drink and be intoxicated but I feel like Jason would sparingly drink or not drink at all becuase he saw first hand how it drugs effects adults. In versions of Jason mothers death she died of overdose on drug's and Jason finds her dead at 10(?). Drugs and aocahol tramatised his in more ways then one and people should agnolige that.
I hc that Bruce randomly drops lore about his life before he became Batman.
The Justice League, The Titians, young Justice and all other superhero groups are at the watch tower no one knows that Batfamily even execets even Wally only knows Dick is Nightwing and Bruce is Batman ONLY. But Bruce is under the assumtion that they know his identaity becuase it has been over a century they have to know right?
