JOHN KARKAT WAS A HOAXV??
we need to start bullying jk rowling for her new profile picture because like
now that chibs is gone I can come out and say that I hate 13th outfit and I don't feel bad about it. it looks like something my mom would have picked out for me when I was 12. all the colours match and nothing clashes which is an absolute no go for doctor outfits if you ask me and the rainbow is sad and watered down just like the lgbt representation in chibnalls run. 3/10 and I feel no remorse for saying this
Character-voice is I think one of the hardest parts of writing and here's two charts to explain my thoughts on why.

The thing I think is maybe happening which I have no idea how to check or prevent:
Terrible jumper loving Dr who in my head my beloved <3
Soooo I’ve been working on my own Dr oc! She’s a sciencey grandmother type who’s willing to commit a lil fisticuffs violence for a peaceful outcome. Also featuring one of her two companions! He’s from 1989 and is currently running away from a fun cocktail of grief and guilt!
Bonus sketches of her as well as a somewhat creepy outfit manip below :D

"company erases all evidence of children's cartoon as a tax write-off" "ten tv shows that will be removed from their streaming services right now, forever" "creative production on indefinite pause because the algorithm said so" "game developers forced to leave company they created due to made-up financial reasons" "fully completed film will never be released because their ceo will lose five dollars"
Fondly remembering the time that a cat owner casually entered their calico Maine Coon in a cat fancier’s competition and the judges lost their minds because the cat was 1) male and 2) able to bear children
Using tumblr is like living in a low class apartment building. You just get used to the landlord not fixing things, and then someone new moves in and you’re helpfully like “oh yeah don’t drink the tap water, it’s got stuff in it that makes you sick” and then your neighbor you’ve had forever goes “oh they took the stuff out actually” and you’re like “what? when was this?”
“like two years ago”
“you mean i could’ve been drinking the tap water all this time?”
“yeah. they gave us individual mailboxes too finally, you don’t have to dig through the communal bin anymore”
“are you for real right now?? i just redirected my mail, i didnt know”
and the new tennant is like “why did you guys even live here if it was so bad”
“we like it.”
“I kinda miss the communal mail bin tho”

seriously wondering if we can call the uk a democracy anymore. we have a prime minister that less than 0.3% of the population voted for, we have a new king that we have no say on, people are getting arrested for protesting against the monarchy under the excuse of ‘offending someone’ and we are effectively having a day of mourning forced upon us for the funeral with important hospital appointments cancelled and people even getting kicked out of holiday lettings for the day. this reads like a dystopian world where a dictator has died, not something happening now in a supposed democratic country
We should have had a funeral like this for Betty White.
Not my usual content, but I’m from the UK and I feel like I should be speaking up on what’s going on right now. Idk how much of the news is getting out to the rest of the world other than general outrage but here’s a breakdown of what’s been going on in my country. Updated 21/09/2022. If anything is missing please send me an ask and I’ll add it after fact-checking. I’ll try to update when I can TW: racism, sexual assault, child abuse, rape, terminal illness, incest, murder, pedophilia.

What do you think nakedness means to Timelords? They don’t seem to be sexual at all and I think they have some sort of touch telepathy, so I assume it would be a way of showing vulnerability? To show they’re trustworthy? Maybe there’s some diplomacy level nakedness? Idk
oh my god, this question is both hilarious and fascinating, thank you for asking -
so: what do we know about time lords? let's list it out.
reproduction through sex isn't really a thing. looming/genetic cloning is the primary method of reproduction because of pythia's curse and a presidential decree that forbids natural births. it states that only the loom-born could "inherit the legacy of Rassilon" - this was to stabilize the population after the curse and force the public to accept looms; it was not because sex was considered amoral (which, as far as I can tell, it wasn't. they seem pretty indifferent about sex/the body and care more about telepathy/the mind.)
they have casual relationships with their corporeal forms. bodies are basically just objects or vessels for them, and these vessels come and go. that creates detachment between bodies and their occupants, making the time lords less likely to have any sort of... deep, meaningful attachment to them. embarrassment, shame, vanity, etc.
touch telepathy. like vulcans from star trek, time lords can read the thoughts of other life forms by touching them or initiating "contact." however, as we saw with madame de pompadour, the telepathy can go both ways. this leaves them vulnerable.
they're fancy bitches. basically every time lord we've seen on-screen is dressed from neck to wrists to ankles in nice, quality clothing. they value their appearances.
by comparison, this is slutty:
wrists showing? ankles showing?? collar bones showing??? normal cotton fabrics without shiny bits or brocade patterns or a vest or anything¿??¿? complete scandal
seemingly, this would suggest that the time lords had reservations/cultural taboos about nudity, like the regency-era english - but they were heavily-clothed for different reasons.
i'll explain, but first, let me lay down this foundational point:
for the time lords, sex isn't reproduction. they're more likely to have kinks about looms and cloning vats than body parts, if any kinks at all. in time lord society, the body isn't inherently sexual. it has no sexual purpose.
okay. so, the time lords arrived at the same conclusion as the victorian english: wear lots of nice fabric and don't you dare ever show skin, you dirty FREAK. but, since:
sex isn't considered amoral (or even considered at all),
nudity isn't considered sexual,
bodies lack deep emotional attachments,
why are they so... clothed?
because, for the time lords, nakedness is:
primitive. it's the mark of a "lesser species," and we know how they feel about those. the nice fabrics, jewels, decorations, collars and robes - they're symbols of superiority and mental acuity. plus, they look good, and the time lords are extra as fuck.
vulnerable. it's a strategic weakness. for a species whose sole purpose is micromanaging the universe, being perceived as "inferior" or "defenseless" is the equivalent to our "whorish" or "godless." nudity itself isn't amoral, but it is revealing, much like touch telepathy.
TLDR: i'd absolutely say that nudity is diplomatic for time lords. much like a handshake, it signals that you don't have any weapons (unless you're captain jack 👀). however, the associations with nudity are far more convoluted than just that, making it inappropriate for different reasons. unlike humans, it's less about sexuality and more about civility. "naked" also means: uncivilized, unintelligent, childlike, etc., all things that the time lords HATE.

Miku by Johannes Vermeer This paintings similarity to Vermeer's most iconic piece- The Girl with The Pearl Earring cannot be denied. Though I am sincerely impressed by the rendering given to the face and the accuracy in her hair tone. There is a vague impression of her chunky hair ties too, which is nice to see. [8/10]
Miku by Sandro Botticelli The frame of this is interesting- unlike what I would see typically associated with Botticelli. It bares a superficial resemblance to Botticelli's body of work- however it bares a massive resemblance to Miku, the twin tails are accounted for and she is even gifted a beautiful headpiece with decorative wings. This depiction is almost saint-like. Points lost for the most fucked up eyes and salad fingers I have seen in my days. [5/10]
Miku by Caraviggo A beautiful combination of Caraviggo's most iconic rich tones and dark atmosphere. There is something deeply interesting to me about this helmet she wears- something intensely modern and robotic whilst maintaining harmony with her comfortable and classic robes. Both twin tails are accounted for- major points. [9/10]
Miku by Elisabeth Louise Vigee Le Brun Madame Le Brun's most iconic subject matters are the French elite and that fashion period pierces through this depiction. Miku appears content yet contemplative. Her hair reflects the envy of the time with big whisps of soft light hair and neatly arranged ringlets. Miku's signature tones pop against the warm complimentary hues- truly one of Madame Le Bruns greatest contributions. [9/10]
Miku by Gustav Klimt Klimt's playful relationship with the unreal is displayed here- maybe even in a way unconventional to Klimt. Miku's chest and arms are eaten by a great thicket of her turquoise hair. She is framed by the ornate speckling iconic to Klimt's body of work- contrasted effectively with the dark tones, with the eye drawn into the subject by an unstable halo of light- dancing into the background like an oil spill. The tone reminds me immensely of Mrs Pumpkin's Comical Dream by Hachi-P. This might have been a [6/10] due to inaccuracy but I am quite fond of it so im bumping it up to a [7/10].
Miku by William-Adolphe Bouguereau Known for portraying mythological scenes and biblical lore Bouguereau is no stranger to realisms true bond with the magical and the romantic- shown here in wonderful technicolour. A modern film over the subject that conveys Miku's true contemporary nature as well as a scene and rendering that display a classical knowledge of the arts. The clothing is undeniably modern whilst cutting her futuristic earpieces with the shape of a nuns habit. A true display of the complete deity status she maintains in the modern creative world. [10/10] A true gesamtkunstwerk.
Miku by Simonetta Vespucci This is really quite upsetting. I wish I had not seen it to be quite frank. This is not Vespucci and this is CERTAINLY not Miku. Im very scared. [-3/10]
