Why Is Kindness Such A Rarity?

Why is kindness such a rarity?

Who made it abnormal to treat another human as if they actually are a living, breathing being?

What caused us to retreat so far into ourselves that we don’t notice the pain around us?

When did we become like this?

...and how can we change it?

Swallow the tears back often enough and they’ll start feeling like acid dripping down your throat.

Never stop being a good person because of bad people.

Find yourself, be yourself

I have always struggled with being myself because I didn’t really know who I am. Even tho it might be a little scray, finding out who you are can also be really fun! Here are some things you can try while looking for yourself:

Try as many hobbies as you can -You might be into art or sports or both!

Listen to new music with open mind

Do the exact opposite of what you usually do- Stay home for once if you go out often. Watch a comedy instead of a horror movie. It might not work out but at least you tried something new.

Get clothes/make up/hairstyle you love -Shape your style with what you actually love. Don’t follow someone elses aesthetic. Pick what you love and your own style will create itself.

Create your scent -You might not realise it but you remember people by how they smell too. Create the scent that will remind people of you.

Ask yourself: “What do I want to be connected with?” -What do you want to come to poeple’s mind when they hear your name? Is it flowers? Jokes? Books? Music? Put that into your life!

Imagine the ideal you and go for it, no matter how crazy the image is

Shape your environment so it feels like home -Buy all the plants or get that pet! Paint your walls and get new blankets!

Say what you want -Make poeple laugh with the silly jokes. Let your opinion be heard. Do not be mean tho, it’s not good for anybody.

Accept the ugly parts of you and work on getting better -You might be arogant or you might have a tendency to be mean. It’s okay because it doesn’t make you a bad person as long as you try your best to change for the better. It’s never too late to learn.

Be with people who allow you to be yourself -People who make you comfortable enough so you aren’t afraid anymore.

Think of the craziest things you’d like to see/try/live and create a bucket list

Make new friends

Study your idols -People who you look up to have traits you wish you had yourself, find out what it is and go get it.

Keep learning -Travel, visit museums, learn a language, listen to poeple’s stories, read books, learn it all.

In all honesty I really liked making this post, so I hope you like it too! Have an amazing year!

“there’s something unnerving about the jaded heart,

with jagged corners sharp enough to draw blood,

when it goes silent.”
