Eleven steps in "The Doctor × Posing"!

It took me pretty a while to get used to Eleventh after my beloved Tenth, but I must admit I like this regeneration too! I'm in the middle of season 7 and oh my, I'd say these seasons got me go teary way more often than previous ones, they feel darker. The doctor is brilliant as always!

The Doctor and The Ponds

You can say all you want, but for me nothing beats The Doctor and The Ponds - the power of three

I know everyone loves the 10th Doctor and Donna, and I like them together too, but they gave off more of a "snarky roommates" vibe. They didn't really feel like a family. They enjoyed each other's company and loved spending time together (roasting one another from time to time) but they didn't connect on a deeper level. I mean, they were like college bffs. For me, at least.

As for the Ponds and the Doctor, or Amy in particular - they definitely felt like a family. Amy and The Doctor acted and treated each other like loving siblings - and, when their trips through time and spaces became rarer, they still needed to be together, to see each other from time to time - even if it didn't mean saving the universe. Hell, Doctor even stayed with them on Earth for a bit, which he had never done before. And it is just so cruel that when Doctor finally believed he had a home and people who were always there for him - the writers took them away. Painfully.

I'm looking forward to seeing Clara in the role of the Doctor's companion, but for me the golden trio will always take a special place iny heart

The 12th and 11th Doctors are opposites. We see 11 at first all bright and bubbly, but in series 7 we see a darker, more apathetic side of him, while with 12, he starts a gruff old, serious man, but by series 10 is more of a fun grandpa with Bill.

So, I developed this habit ever since Tumblr became my go-to place for reader-insert fanfics of falling in love with characters from shows and movies that I have and will likely never see to the point of actually inserting myself into certain scenarios (i.e; I’ll rewrite the reader’s dialogue to be what I think I would actually say in the given situation)  and coming up with my own headcanons for certain scenarios, Good Omens (specifically Crowley), Doctor Who (specifically 10 and 11) and Sherlock (specifically the detective himself) are the biggest examples of this phenomenon. This also happens with shipping, in which case Johnlock is the biggest example. If I were to watch Sherlock, I would most defiantly see Sherlock and John only as close friends and just roll my eyes when the show is deliberately ship-teasing them. 

I want to share something special for me, something that affected my interests in things I like and been a huge part of my teenage years.

This. This animation right here is what introduced me to Doctor Who. Seeing how someone took their time to expertly animate those smooth movements, incredible colours and beautiful transitions into a fantastically well-made story inspired me to start watching Doctor Who, and it was one of the best decisions I've ever made.

I think these amazing series will be forever my favourite 🩷

If it’s alright can you do a platonic headcanon of any Doctor Who character’s/ regenerations you’d like meeting a reader who’s like a sky kid. From Sky:Children of light and how’d they react to reader being really friendly and trying to befriend them with a candle. As well as trying to guide them around and drag them away from potential danger (like if they feel a krill is nearby)

This is a great request! Thanks, @themagicspacenerd! I’ve decided to do multiple regenerations and companions, most notably the twelfth Doctor, the eleventh Doctor, the tenth Doctor, and Clara. Just for fun, they’re all in the same time period and location for these headcanons. What can I say, I love a good crossover.

The twelfth Doctor nearly walked past the child but stopped once he realized what he’d just seen, raising an enormous bushy eyebrow.

Similarly, Eleven walks past- but unlike Twelve, who stops where he’s standing, Eleven bounces back to meet the child’s eyes. “Hello there!”

Ten sees the child from a distance and gets out his sonic screwdriver to scan them. The child misinterprets this as him holding out a candle and asking to be friends.

Before the child can get out a candle, Clara walks up. Her face lights up as she says hello and compliments the child on their cape. “Are you pretending to be a superhero?”

The child doesn’t answer but finally manages to get out a candle and holds it out to Ten.

“What’s this?” Ten comes closer and, as the child reaches the candle out, touches his sonic screwdriver to the candle. The light travels through the sonic screwdriver until the whole thing shines. The light slowly fades.

The child looks up, studying Ten’s face, and Ten realizes they couldn’t see the details of his face before.

Ten tells everyone to touch a light to the child’s candle and they do.

The child perks up once they can see everyone’s face, and they put both hands to their chest in an expression of gratitude.

Bonus: “Oi!” Donna yelps as the child drags her away from a weeping angel. “Where exactly do you think you’re taking me?”

Just had the most genius idea!

Sadly I didn't think about this sooner but my mom told me I can cosplay for my school pictures since they fucked up my 9th grade one and now I'm gonna cosplay the Doctors (each one corresponding to my grade) this year means I'll be the Tenth doctor! I wish I thought of this last year cause it would've been cool to have been 9.

I knelt on the marble floor, not daring to look at the twelve thrones that surrounded me.

"Rise, Alelia." A loud voice boomed out.

I slowly raised my head, trying not to shake at the sight of the figures around me.

"You know you have committed a forbidden act, do you not?" The voice boomed again.

My eyes widened and I started to my feet. "No, please! You must understand, this can help us! Is our ultimate aim not to gift these people with knowledge?"

A feminine voice came from my right. "These people were a mistake. They have no use in terms of strategy."

I turned to the blonde woman. "Please, my lady. We created them, therefore we must take responsibility!"

The man in front of me stood. "Alelia Athanidi, you are hereby charged with treason against the crown. If you love these creatures so much, how about you spend some time with them?"

I take a shaky breath. "How long?"

"Until we see fit to bring you back."

I take a sharp step backwards. "No, please! I have a life here! I cannot just leave."

The man shook his head. "I'm afraid that is impossible, my daughter. You have committed severe crimes and they must be repaid. You may keep a small portion of your power, but you will no longer be immortal. Remember, this is not a death sentence, but a lesson."

I lowered my head. There was no point in arguing. "Yes my lord."

I kept my head down, not noticing the lightning bolt had left his hands until it struck me and everything went dark.

one thing i would mention is this:

somehow google thinks that the theory/speculation before the release of TNOTD is that clara is the doctor's and river's daughter. despite the speculation/theory already disproven with the episode's release and what clara was, some people I don't know how think clara is the daughter of 11 and river when it's just a bogus speculation/theory that even if true would be terrible considering the previous season literally revealed that river was the daughter of amy and rory...

Why Eleven x Clara is a NOTP for many — and why that misses the point completely.

A gentle, unapologetically emotional defense of one of the most quietly beautiful connections in all of Doctor Who.

1. “He sees her like a daughter.”

This is one of the most common reasons people list Eleven x Clara as a NOTP. And yes, Eleven has shown fatherly or protective sides — with Amy, for example — so the argument may seem valid at first.

But look closely. Watch their scenes. Feel the air between them.

He doesn’t look at Clara like a daughter.

He looks at her like someone who startled him back to life.

There’s admiration, yes. But also awe. Curiosity.

That breathless kind of attention you give to someone who makes the world feel different just by existing.

He never patronizes her. He never “parents” her.

If anything, Clara is often the more emotionally grounded of the two.

She holds him accountable. She challenges him. She saves him.

And when he calls her “My Clara” — it’s not in a possessive or paternal tone.

It’s gentle. Reverent. Personal.

As if her name is the one word he never wants to lose.

2. “She was just a mystery to him.”

At the beginning of their arc, yes — Clara was a mystery.

The Impossible Girl. The girl who died again and again.

But the magic of their connection isn’t that she was a puzzle — it’s what happened after the Doctor solved it.

He could have walked away once he understood who she was.

He didn’t.

He kept her close.

And in The Name of the Doctor, when she gives herself up to his timestream — not just once, but forever — he follows her in.

She’s dying. All the time. Somewhere. Every second of every day.

And still, he goes after her.

Not because she’s a mystery.

Because she’s his.

And even in the moments where the show avoids naming what they are to each other, the truth is everywhere — in the way they hold eye contact too long, in the way he softens only for her, in the way she knows exactly how to reach him when no one else can.

3. “River is his great love, canonically.”

Yes. She is. And that’s okay.

River is mythic.

Her love story with the Doctor is one of cosmic proportions — nonlinear, bold, time-bending.

But love isn’t a single lifetime.

And the Doctor isn’t a single man.

River is written in fire.

Clara is written in whispers.

With River, the story was told.

With Clara, it was felt.

Their love is not defined by declarations. It’s in the moments between. The silences. The sacrifices. The choices.

And perhaps the most Whoufflé thing of all is that neither of them says “I love you” — and yet they both do, constantly.

So why does Elevenclara matter?

Because it’s quiet.

Because it’s overlooked.

Because it never asks for attention — and yet it lingers.

It’s the glance held a second too long.

The breath caught in the throat.

The ache of knowing something so precious, it might break just by being named.

It’s:

• Clara jumping into a timeline to save him, knowing it will destroy her.

• The Doctor following her in anyway, knowing it will destroy him.

• The way he says “My Clara” like she’s the only constant in all of time and space.

• The way she sees him, even after regeneration, and whispers:

“You asked me if you were a good man. I don’t know. But I think you try to be. And I think that’s probably the point.”

They love each other — deeply, terribly, quietly.

And because they never say it out loud, many people miss it. It‘s between the lines.

But those who see it…

Those who feel it…

Know that Whoufflé isn’t a mystery.

It’s a memory.

A moment suspended in time.

nobody pointed this out a lot because many have been forgotten.

shipping naming conventions then:

take half of a ship's character's name and/or object, combine it with other half of character's name and/or object.

in this case: whouffle

who: doctor WHO (any doctor, eleven for easy sakes)

uffle: clara (soufflé, reference to clara baking soufflés in asylum as oswin and references to her failing to bake a soufflés)

shipping naming conventions now:

take both first names of ship and combine it

in this case: elevenclara

eleven (11th doctor) + clara (clara oswald): elevenclara/11clara.

Here it goes.

Back then, whouffle was born following the release of Asylum of the Daleks. Because Clara's hasn't been properly revealed yet and nobody thought better, whouffle came as a result of Who + Souffle; names and objects that back then how shipping naming conventions worked.

Whouffle was used to refer to 11clara (and her echoes) before the announcement of Capaldi as the 12th in June 2013. Then, because it was simpler, they decided to add -aldi (capaldi = 12) to the end of whouffle; whouffaldi (whouffle + capaldi) . and there was another thing; the 50th anniversary (which featured 10, resulting in allonswin (allonsy + oswin) (im not a huge 10clara fan tbh)). With this, they elected to revise the doctorclara naming scheme and added a new name for 11clara; souffez (soufflé + fez) and whouffle relegated to be as doctorclara.

for over a decade, it's always been this. 12clara was always referred to as whouffaldi and whouffle, 11clara was referred to as whouffle and souffez before souffez got dropped by around 2018-2019 due to confusion, whouffle being more recognizable and longer used, and more importantly, simplicity. by now, 11clara is referred to as whouffle by many and 12clara is referred to by both whouffaldi and whouffle which is understandable and annoying since the revision stating that whouffle referred to as doctorclara but can be annoying to someone like me who looks for 11clara content (images/gifs) with majority got taken over by 12clara content.

looking back and now use 11clara/elevenclara and 12clara/twelveclara. im glad we now use this current naming convention because we can denote it more simply but knowing how much tumblr had so many 11clara content lost to time and the amount of 12clara posts via the whouffle tag. it's understandable why this happened.

tl;dr 11clara fan is annoyed at old shippers for shipping naming convention.
