We think he might have NPD, but it's very strange because no one else in our system acts anything like that. He's also very stereotypical and exaggerated so at first I was hesitant to say he did... but now I'm starting to think that's mainly because he has no social skills whatsoever and has barely talked to anyone outside of our system. If that is the case, it's really interesting how disorders can present differently in systems!

Either way, the tinted glasses represent the unrealistic "lens" through which he sees the world. He automatically assumes he's very important and likeable to everyone, and entitled to their attention. He doesn't seem to understand why this isn't the case and gets frustrated when things don't work out the way he wants them to.

We're starting to understand why he acts like this though and hopefully with some patience we'll work it out ^^

When you struggle with identity loss so you just adopt that as your identity.

Quick recap of terms:

Split - When an alter "splits", forming two or more new alters from the original one.

Blend - A temporary fusion between alters.

Primary Alter - An alter who is most commonly present, the "default mode". This is a term we personally created for our own system.

Additionally, "whole" is in quotation marks because of how systems form! There technically never was a state a being whole, but because M/N refers to a potential final fusion and blend as well as us before we became a system, we have chosen to use that term.

Completely understand this, I formed years ago and still don't fully understand what species I am. It's like I'm human but there's something off about it, it's not quite obvious until you observe and it can be really confusing to understand even for me. But I'm not human but kind of am in some weird nonhumany way.

in completely other news did any other nonhuman alters not know what species/thing they were when they first split/became self aware? I know im not human but idk what i am lmao
