I'm in love with this series!!!! :)X
Character: ☼ Wukong x Reader; ☾ Macaque x Reader ☽
✐ Context: You got a match in a dating app!
✐ Category: Funny. Cute. Romantic.
I never used one of those apps before, so I'm basing this solely on what I saw from posts and videos on the internet.
☼ Sun Wukong:
✐ Probably it all started when MK noticed how alone his master seemed to be.
✐ To help, Mk would create the account for Wukong, a thing that the monkey was totally against, but he decided to give it a try to please his student (or maybe he totally wanted some new company).
✐ Your profile did catch the Great Sage's attention easily.
✐ The description said that you like animals, and your hobbies included cooking, baking, and watching a lot of different series that he particularly liked too (the adventure ones with clear inspiration on JTTW).
✐ An animal lover would be perfect to deal with the Monkey King and his little monkeys, the fact that you were into making food was a huge attractive, and it was clear that watching TV would be a nice activity since you two shared similar interest when it comes to entertainment.
✐ And your cute profile picture showing off your beauty kinda made him more interested in this whole dating idea.
✐ Happy news! His solicitation to talk got accepted! Soon the two of you were babbling about your favorite shows and other common interests.
✐ If you choose him as your match, your profile probably stated that you were in search of someone funny. His profile picture was a blurry pic of one of his little monkeys with a puffy cheek for eating an oversized piece of fruit.
✐… And seeing this interest in amusing men, made Wukong put all his goofy charm on display, you would laugh so much while chatting to him.
✐ The fact that your online crush has martial arts as one of his hobbies listed on his profile did get your eyes too. I mean, who doesn't enjoy the concept of a strong person that know how to defend themselves?
✐ Ok, you had to admit that the idea that he would have a sexy fighter body also made you interested.
✐ When you asked for a photo of him, you had to ask him to "turn off the cute monkey filter he was using".
✐ He didn't manage to make you believe that he was in fact the Monkey King, he had to take a photo of him in human form (but continued to say that this wasn't his original appearance, and you laughed at his "silly joke")
✐ When the moment of the first date finally happened, you arranged to meet in a humble cafeteria, but busy enough to have almost all the tables occupied.
✐ Sun Wukong appeared in human form to avoid any type of outdoor confusion. Happiness fuelled him by seeing how things just clicked naturally between you guys.
✐ But when the date ended, and you two were ready to say goodbye, you gave him a surprise kiss in his nose and he literally transformed back in front of you.
✐ A poof sound was emitted in the air, revealing a ginger monkey with a scared expression. Silence tainted the surrounding for a bit, until your partner broke it.
"Uuhhh... Well, I'm the Monkey King, just like I said before... Yey?"
"That was... Kinda cute." - You said with shocked eyes and blushing cheeks.
✐ With you knowing who he really is the dates got more interesting, he took you to fly in his cloud, to see his land, to know his monkeys and his successor, to watch him training.
✐ It would take a long time for him to work up the courage to ask to be your boyfriend.
✐ After plucking up the braveness and arranging a cute, and romantic date, he would appropriately propose (or as appropriately as he could manage).
-✐-✐-✐-✐-✐-✐-✐-✐-✐-✐-✐-✐-✐-✐-
✐ Macaque was probably bored and searching for any distraction when he downloaded the app.
✐ He thought that playing with one stranger feelings was a fun idea.
✐ Soon he found your profile that wasn't just the perfect victim, it was quite of charming to him too.
✐ First, the profile showed a beautiful frame, elegant, yet simple.
✐ The description informed that you were a "night owl", a person full of flaming passion to give, with meditation and writing novels as the main hobbies, but reading and watching theatrical plays as activities you enjoyed too.
✐ It was more than clear that you two would talk about good stories. His interior artist was crazy to show his many shadow plays to someone special, Macaque just didn't want to admit it openly.
✐ Of course, you had no trouble getting interested in this captivating and attractive figure.
✐ The profile picture showed his dazzing human form, and the way he described himself clearly highlighted his dramatically theatrical side, so poetic and mysterious at the same time.
✐ The two of you would spend late nights talking about different ideas for dramatic scripts, judging movies and book scripts you might be seeing, and sharing gossip about any interesting celebrity drama.
✐ Any time you had a question about how something would work mechanically in a fight, so you could write in your book you would talk to him, as the profile made it clear he was a fighter.
✐ Even more fun was asking side effects of specific blows, such as how a person feels after receiving a kick in the chest.
"I'm going to research how much a person bleeds after being stabbed."
"You need to specify how the cut was, if it is superficial, only a few drops will come out of the cut, if it is a larger tear, the blood will come out more quickly, but it depends a lot on the severity of the blow."
"... Wow... You totally have to help me with my book. Let me give you more details..."
✐ Mr Six Ears started to build some unconscious expectations after seeing how enchanting you were. Any amount of flirtation coming from him was returned by you with an even more effective dose of sweet talk.
✐ The monkey didn't notice, but over time any notification he heard made his own heart flutter. Your passionate side was slowly making him delirious with strong emotions.
✐ You set up your first date at a memorable restaurant, sure it wasn't the most expensive in town, but the high quality was remarkable.
✐ Even though the place was full of elegant people, he couldn't take his eyes off you.
✐ Flirtation filled your table conversation, both of you dedicated to making the other feel attractive. You mostly praised his voice, making clear that to you his voice was much prettier than the singers in the background.
✐ In the end he pulled you in for a kiss in the expectation of messing with you, having fun playing with you, but what he felt was something too good for him too.
✐ Subsequently, the end of the date made him notice how he was actually feeling.
✐ He didn't talk normally to you for a month (a thing you didn't like at all, it's super common for people to disappear after the first date), but after that break he got more intense, he clearly had something to tell you.
✐ A date was arranged at the theater where he works. After a beautiful shadow play presentation in which he told the story of the legendary Six Eared Macaque, he called you backstage for a chat.
✐ Macaque showed his true form, he was ready to be rejected for lying, but you smiled as if you already knew he was probably a demon.
"You weren't exactly discreet about your supernatural abilities, I saw you grab a bottle of wine from the shadow of our table on the last date."
✐ The next few dates got better and better, and not long after he found himself officially dating you.
Please don't mind the grammer or misspellings, this is my first writing thing ಥ‿ಥ
Btw I recommend listing to "Christmas Time is Here" from Charlie Brown to get the mood right
You sigh in contentment as you blow on the steam coming from your drink, sitting in front of a fire in your little getaway cottage. You take a sip of your hot chocolate, feeling the warm sweet liquid coat your throat, just as you feel a familiar pair of arms wrap around you.
It felt like decades since you were able to get this kind of alone time together, being busy with work and family during the upcoming holidays was already getting rough, but just feeling the warmth of his chest and the hot chocolate currently warming your stomach was enough to make you melt like snow. You watch as he puts on some random Christmas movie from Hallmark and you let out a huff of air at the cheesiness that was about to ensue in the movie.
But then again, maybe a little cheesiness and corny holiday humor is just what you two needed to enjoy this brief vacation. You snuggle deeper into his chest as he plucks your mug from your hands to sit on the coffee table in order to get more comfortable with you, his breath smelling of peppermint and warm cider.
You sigh happily as his chest vibrates with a chuckle leaving his lips, planting a tender kiss to the top of your head before pulling you into his lap to lay upon his chest. You glance at the falling snow one last time before lifting your gaze to your amazing lover, wondering what you did to get someone like him to fall for you.
HeLp!!
Okay so does anyone know the title of this certain LMK fanfic that I'm pretty sure is on AO3, it's an Sun Wukong x reader x Macaque (don't judge me) and from what I can remember the reader is a baker that is across from Pigsy's that is like a mother figure to Mk. There's this bird that shows up to the reader's bakery and she (yes the reader is female) always feeds the bird, which is Wukong in disguise. Timeskip a little, She gets dragged into helping Mk and it kinda follows the plot of A Hero Is Born, but Wukong reveals he's been watching reader after he started following Mk. I forgot some details, but the reader is a descendant of a powerful being called a "messenger" and she doesn't know how to control her powers. If I'm remembering right, Macaque finds her (I forgot how ~_~) in her apartment having a mental breakdown and cracks forming on her body, the reader is chubby if I remember right, due to not knowing what she is and not being able to control her powers yet. She follows Mk around and follows the plot of seasons one through three, she bonds with Macaque and Wukong, she starts dating Wukong first but then gets into a fight because she realizes she loves Wukong and Macaque. Oh and I think the fanfic uses Y/n.
I'm so sorry if that isn't much, but I've been looking for this fanfic for almost two hours and I cannot find it. If anyone remembers this fanfic and (hopefully) knows the name or the author PLEASE TELL ME!!
I found it! :)
Thank you to Masterradd-28 for helping me find it :D

Reborn Sun Wukong x Gn Reader

When hearing about the great tales of Journey to the West, you’ll often hear the stories of the great and all-mighty Monkey King, also known as Sun Wukong. The great sage equal to heaven, the celestial monkey that was born from a stone and set off to cause mayhem amongst anyone that crossed his path without any concern or hesitation.
You would also hear about the laughingstock of heaven and, honestly, of hell as well. The tales of Zhu Bajie, also known as Pigsy, a man who used to be a heaven official but made the mistake of refusing to believe he’s lightweight when it comes to alcohol, leading to his banishment and being cursed to be a pig demon for all eternity.
It’s also no doubt that you would hear about Tang Sanzang, formally known as Tripitaka, the powerful yet peaceful monk who had set off to fulfill his destiny!
There is also Sha Wujing, also known as Sandy, there’s not much about him but everyone knows he’s a water demon who fought courageously.
And finally, Ao Lie, the white dragon horse, who was also disguised as a white horse for Tripitaka to ride on while they make the hellish adventure to get those scriptures.
All of the people I have listed so far are very obviously well known. Some more than others. All have backstories worth mentioning even if there isn’t much. However, what if I told you there was one other person who, too, followed the demons and the monk on their journey, but you won’t find them in any stories. Not even a brief mention of their name. And that’s because this person was no one special. I apologize profusely, but those are the words I’ve heard from time and time again when I would ask why this person isn’t written down in history like the rest.
Surely, if they were a part of The Journey and were brave enough to follow the rest down the path of chaos and destruction, with a high risk of death, and trusting your life with 3 demons, that in itself is special, no? Unfortunately, people don’t see it that way. If you do not have some sort of spectacular fact about yourself that would capture the eyes of a dozen citizens, then you are nothing but a worthless little pebble under someone’s shoe. It’s a harsh reality.
However, that is why I am here! I am here to tell the tales of {Full Name}, Whether people like it or not, Because I firmly believe that they too deserve to be written down in history, just like the rest! And who knows, maybe you’ll learn a thing or two, but enough chit-chat, Let us begin!
This story starts with a small village that sits just at the bottom of a mountain. And on this mountain, lived a vicious demon.
The demon had been around for what felt like centuries, and often loved to cause havoc amongst the town’s people. The demon would poison the soil so nothing would grow, destroy stalls, steal from said stalls, smear mud and dirt on any clean laundry, and would run people over with a mysterious carriage. People of the village constantly prayed and prayed to any god to take care of this demon, but upstairs always remained silent. Eventually, after realizing that no one was going to save them, they decided to take matters into their own hands.
Chaos could be heard from a mile away as the townspeople shouted over each other.
“We must slay this demon!” Someone from the crowd shouted.
“With what?! Pitchforks and dainty knives? We’ve all seen what this demon is capable of, what we have won’t do shit!” Another one rebutted.
Throughout all this chaos, a rather average looking person stood off to the side, trying to share what they had to say, but their hushed voice was drowned out by all the other booming voices in the room. It’s quite funny, really. This person, {Name}, spent– heaven knows how many hours practicing what they were going to say, was also the first few to show up, only to be pushed into a corner. And no matter how much they tried to step through the crowd or raise their voice, all their attempts were futile. Eventually, {Name} let out a heavy sigh, before making their way through the crowd to leave through the front door.
Upon stepping outside, {Name} felt the spring breeze gently caress their skin, they inhaled deeply, letting the faint smell of blossoms ease their mind. It was a rather peaceful evening, despite all the ruckus going on in the house behind them. The air wasn’t too hot or too cold, flowers were starting to blossom from all around, the petals and their scent being carried by the wind, and the sun was just starting to set over the horizon, with the skies becoming a mixture of blue, orange, and a dash of red. Honesty, all of it was a sight to see, but sadly, everyone was too frightened to pay it any mind. Who could blame them though, really. With this demon who’s caused nothing but constant dilemmas and chaos for heaven knows how long, it’s no wonder everyone here would be in distress all the time.
{Name} sighed heavily once more before rubbing their temples, not knowing whether to laugh or cry. All the commotion, and the sudden sound of glass breaking was truly starting to get on their nerves. Unfortunately, however, it had always been like this, whenever the town’s people would try to talk about getting rid of this demon, it always ended up getting physical, and In the end, getting nowhere. Honestly, all of it was ridiculous and {Name} was starting to get irritated by it. I mean, that’s why they attempted to be a part of this meeting in the first place. They thought maybe, just maybe, they could take some initiative and try to have everyone think rationally for once, and not be so hostile and rowdy.
Though, I guess looking back on it now, it was stupid to think someone so bashful and run-of-the-mill as them, could make a difference. If they can’t even fake the confidence to take matters into their own hands. Then hell, what good are they? The thought alone made them feel…useless. {Name} tilts their head back, in a poor attempt to keep the tears from falling. However, the tears trickled down their face regardless. Embarrassed by their current state, {Name} took off towards the direction of a nearby forest. They didn’t know where they were going, they didn’t think of how close it was to nightfall. All they could think about was getting to a safe place to let out their woes without any judgment.
The labored villager continued to run throughout the unfamiliar territory, making impetuous twists and turns for heaven knows how long, trying their best to jump over fallen logs and moss covered rocks, and unaware of their ankles getting little cuts from open thorns and sticks.
{Name} continued on until they found a spot behind a tree, sinking down to the floor as they finally let go of all their sorrows. They didn’t want to continue living like this; Living in constant distress, with nothing ever being solved because everyone was already so stressed out and exhausted from this blasted demon. I mean, what did the people in the village ever do to him? Why must he keep coming back to attack everyone — even children? Is there some sort of unknown history we were all unaware of? Does the demon know something we don’t?
Whatever the case may be, {Name} just wanted it all to end. They couldn’t take another second of living in that village; where the people do nothing but scream and yell at each other and don’t take a second to just think rationally. There needs to be a change before this demon eventually gets bored of terrorizing everyone and does something worse. {Name} wanted to be that change. But they were foolish enough to think that would ever happen. “Why?” {Name} spoke. Their voice low and raspy from crying so much. They looked up at the starry night sky, unable to realize just how long they’ve been crying for. “Why must this happen to us? What did we ever do?” {Name} honestly didn’t know who they were talking to, or if they were even talking to someone at all. Hell, it would be a blessing in itself if their voice was even loud enough to reach anyone. “We have done everything. Prayed, made offerings, dedicated ourselves to you,” {Name’s} voiced a little louder, their face contorted with anger. “So why do you choose to ignore our pleas? Are we simply not worth your time?” A gentle breeze passed by, but {Name} paid it no mind as they waited for a response, a voice. A comforting breeze will do no good, it will not just magically make up for the constant neglect from the Heaven’s. {Name} knows they shouldn’t dare think this way, they know such thoughts would poison their soul, but they felt like they deserve some sort of proper response from someone. Their childhood had been damaged because of this vile creature, they watched as their parents went from kind and caring folks to aggressive and hostile ones. They used to welcome {Name} with loving arms, often trying to encourage them to be more confident in themselves, to not be afraid to stand up for what was right. But slowly, over the years, they started getting more…aggressive and uncaring towards {Name}.
Out of respect, I will not mention the things they have done. Though, I will say that it unfortunately got to the point where {Name} had become very skilled in tending to wounds.
The lonesome village felt another tear prick at the corner of their eyes, their head dropped as the fresh set of tears left little stains on their clothes. Please, just send someone, anyone, to take care of this demon. I would do anything in return, I promise.
…
The rapid crackling of leaves suddenly reverberated around the forest, {Name} nearly jumped out of their skin when they heard it. The lonesome villagers quickly wiped the remaining tears from their face before attempting to see the source of the noise.
From where they were, they managed to see a tall, humanoid figure running as fast as they could, the figure was wearing all black colored clothing so they could’ve easily blended in with the night. The only reason {Name} could see them was because of another figure dressed in all white colored clothing that was lazily thrown over the other one’s shoulder.
“WUKONG!! SAVE ME!!” The person in white yelled.
Without thinking, {Name} got up from their spot and started chasing after the strangers to the best of their ability. Their name wasn’t Wukong, but regardless the stranger was in trouble.
The figure dressed in black was fast, {Name} will tell you that. The figure was jumping around while also making unexpected turns—which threw {Name} off a bit—all while the person in white continued to cry out to someone named Sun Wukong. Which, {Name} had no idea who that was, but they’re assuming Sun Wukong is this guy’s friend. Though, what’s a bit strange is that this guy, despite crying out for help, made little to no effort to fight against the person who was holding him captive.
After what felt like hours, {Name} managed to follow the figure to a cave that was located at the top of the mountain. {Name} heaved while trying to force themselves to walk further up the steep hill. Once at the top, they leaned up against the entrance of the cave, trying to catch their breath. “I wasn’t built for this shit,” they thought.
A moment or two had passed before {Name} looked further into the cave, borrowing the faint moonlight, {Name) couldn’t help but sigh in awe.
The cave was covered in foliage, with a few small waterfalls that flowed down from a few openings in the walls, and the moonlight only gave the place an ethereal glow.
(Artist: Unknown. Source: Pinterest).
{Name} was astonished, never in their life have they ever seen something as elegant as this. It all made {Name} ponder about their own life choices. From their younger years, there were always these rowdy kids who always dismissed the adults' concerns and went as far as they wanted into the woods. The kids offered for {Name} to join them one time, but they timidly refused. Now looking back on it, Perhaps it wouldn’t have hurt to accept their offer.
After what felt like an incense time, {Name} carefully moved towards the cave, the light from the moon slowly warning the further they went, relying on the tiny luminous blue flowers that scattered throughout the cave. As time passed, {Name} couldn’t help but grow more nervous. I mean, what were they going to do? How were they going to save this stranger from someone who could be armed and is undoubtedly stronger then {Name} was, when just prior they were sitting in the dark crying because they can’t even get their voice to go up an octave or two.
Honestly, the smartest thing to do would’ve been to go search for this “Wukong” guy but nOoOo, they just had to prove themselves.
Sighing heavily, {Name} continued on, trying to ease their mind by taking in the scenery. Whoever that black-clad man was, and as horrible as it sounds, {Name} was glad this was the place the man led them to. While they walked, they suddenly came to an opening with a bunch of stone staircases leading in all different directions, leading to multiple different rooms. {Name} was about to walk past it before a rather rejoiceful voice echoed throughout the room. “How lucky, How lucky I am today!!” {Name’s} blood ran cold, they recognized that voice. It was the demon. {Name} had followed the demon back to where he lived!
…
Shit.
End of part 1!
I really hope you and Queen enjoyed it. I can’t guarantee when the next part will be out, but keep an eye out 👁️
Love you all!!
You feel the cold grip of fear course through your veins. One moment you were sitting by the campfire waiting for the Destined One / Sun Wukong to come back the next a group of yaoguai showed up and took you captive. Large clawed hands ding into your arm as you’re lifted effortlessly off the ground. Kicking, screaming, you do everything in your power to escape.
But it’s useless. You're dragged further and further away.
Taken to a cave deep within the mountain, the cavernous lair is cold and haunting. It stinks of flesh and rot. Littered on the ground are bones of people who met an unfortunate end. You’re going to die. That’s the only thought running through your head.
But to your surprise the leader of the group has different plans. Instead of being turned into dinner, you're thrown into a massive birdcage. The bars are too narrow for you to squeeze through and you have nothing in hand to pick the lock.
A day and night passes.
You’re left to your own devices inside that lonely birdcage. With only the occasional visit. Your kidnapper does nothing, simply watches you inside your cage. You cling on to the hope that soon you’ll be rescued.
[-] Starts to immediately go on the search for you the moment he realizes you’re gone.
[-] His one goal is to find you and make sure you are safe. His eyes narrow as he looks for any clues that will lead him to you. When he does find the cave, he initially sneaks inside but is spotted.
[-] The ensuing fight is a mess. His staff is swung left and right. Pushing through the enemy until he reaches you.
[-] Busting open the birdcage, DO rushes to your side. Pulls you into a hug and immediately starts to check you for injuries. When he’s sure that you’re okay, he’s going to slump against you.
[-] The stress of worry finally caught up to him. Both of you walk out of that cave together, exhausted but relieved.
[-] He’s going to follow you everywhere. Need to collect herbs and vegetables for dinner that day, he’s going to be at your side carrying anything you find. Need to take a bath, well better be comfortable with sharing a bath.
[-] You’re going to have to reassure him that everything will be alright. And only after you’ve given him kisses will he relax.
[-] WHO WOULD DARE KIDNAP YOU?! Sun Wukong, known for wreaking havoc in heaven, earth, and the underworld, is beyond furious. It’s not a matter of if he’ll find you, but a matter of when he’ll find you.
[-] Will do anything within his power to get you back. If he can’t do it on his own, he’ll threaten to cause another incident in heaven if they don’t help get you back.
[-] When he does find out where you are being kept, his first instinct is to storm in and take you. But, not wanting to risk you getting hurt, Wukong transforms into a small beetle and sneaks inside.
[-] Seeing you inside a birdcage causes him to detransform. The fight that follows is bloody. He shows no mercy to those that kidnapped you.
[-] By the time he’s done, you know that no one would think about ever kidnapping you.
[-] Wukong is going to check to make sure that you’re alright. Will tend to any wounds you may have gotten. Will make sure that you eat something and will stay by your side.
[-] For the next couple of days, Wukong is going to be clingy. He’ll never admit it, but the thought that you could have died keeps him up at night. He has a lot of enemies that want revenge and any of them could try to hurt you.
[-] Keeps you within sight and reach. His tail is going to be wrapped around your waist or wrist.
[-] Is going to hold you closer at night, dreading the idea of waking up to you gone. He’ll only ease up when he knows you can protect yourself. Expect to get personal one-on-one training with him.
You didn’t always consider yourself a lucky charm. In the beginning of your travels with the Destined One / Sun Wukong, you often found yourself in trouble. Small little misfortunes happen to you on a daily basis. A yaoguai chasing after you, falling into a stream, getting your clothes caught in tree branches. It wasn’t easy adjusting to this strange new land. It was so different from what you knew.
But little by little, everything seemed to get better. A small observation here, a causal comment there, and the fight always ends with Sun Wukong / Destined One emerging victorious. And even they start to notice that the fights seem easier and he’s not getting as injured as before.
Destined One
[-] Before any fight, he always makes sure you’re safe. It becomes second nature for you to let yourself be picked up and placed on the highest tree branch. Out of harm, but still able to watch and see in case he needs help.
[-] But regardless if you’re up high on a tree or just watching on the sidelines, DO will always look into your eyes and press his forehead against yours before heading off.
[-] It’s his way of promising you that everything will be alright and that he’ll be back. Since then, it’s become a little ritual between the two.
[-] Even when his opponents get stronger and stronger, he always manages to win. But the one time he didn’t gaze at your lovely eyes and nuzzle your cheek, he was hit by countless arrows.
[-] If he didn’t believe in you being his lucky charm, he sure does now. Immediately after recovering he goes to you and pulls you into a hug.
[-] It’s not only in fighting that you bring him good luck. When he’s out with you, DO always finds the best items. Be it armor or weapons, you always seem to find them.
[-] The Destined One rightly assumes that the longer he stays clinging on to you the better his luck will be. So fully expect him to have you trapped in a hug.
Sun Wukong
[-] It starts off as teasing.
[-] Wukong when laying his head on your lap would insist on having you groom his fur. He’s a king after all and he can’t be looking all rough. Nuzzling into your hand, he’ll grab your wrist and press his lips against your palm.
[-] It’s at that moment that a peach falls off the tree both of you were resting under. With a laugh, he’ll say how his sweet peach brought him a snack to eat. He’ll call you his lucky charm, but won’t think further about it.
[-] The next time he kisses you it’s on the cheek while he’s in the middle of a fight. Considering the foe too weak, he sent out a clone to deal with it. And enamored by your blush, both of you are surprised when the yaoguai trips and falls to their death.
[-] From then on, Wukong takes every opportunity to give you kisses. Be it on your hand, face, shoulder, or neck. He will find an opportunity to press his lips against your skin.
[-] Does he need luck. No, he’s the Great Sage Equal to Heaven after all. But if it lets him boast to everyone how he has his own personal lucky charm then he’s all for it.
It was bound to happen at some point. Traveling through rain, heat, and snow was going to lead to you getting sick. It started off small. You woke up to your arms and legs aching, but you brushed it off. You spend your time walking from place to place, if you felt a bit sore that was expected. Then your head started to hurt. A dull ache behind your eyes. Maybe you weren’t drinking enough water. It had been a while since you had a break. For every little thing there was a reasonable explanation.
It wasn’t until you woke up gasping for air that you were finally willing to admit that you were sick. Nose stuffed to the brim, clothes drenched in sweat, and forehead hot to the touch you couldn’t remember ever being so sick.
When you don’t get up early that morning, DO / Wukong knows that something is wrong. If you hadn't already woken up before him, then it wouldn’t be long before you were up. Looking over at your flushed face, his brows furrowed in worry. When he pokes and prods you and doesn’t receive much of a reaction except for a grunt, his tail flicks in worry.
Destined One
[-] He can instantly tell that you're sick. And while outwardly he doesn’t seem bothered, the way his tail flicks around and his raised shoulders were enough of a sign to tell he was worried.
[-] Feels completely out of his depth about what to do. Sure he helped take care of the younger monkeys back home, but didn’t know if that could be used on humans. The last thing he wanted to do was make you feel worse.
[-] You’ll have to guide him for a bit. Tell him what you need and he’s on it. With the same focus he has when fighting, he’s going to do everything to make sure you get better.
[-] Is the sun too bright and making your headache worse? Be prepared to be carried somewhere with shade and be handed water.
[-] Not able to stomach anything. He’s going to make the blandest most flavorless soup imaginable just so that you can eat something.
[-] Doesn’t want to leave you side if possible, but he knows that he needs to get you medicine. And as the day progresses and you don’t seem to be getting better, he starts to get more nervous.
[-] Ultimately both of you choose to go to the Zodiac Village. Maybe they’ll have something to help you get better.
[-] And if while you're bundled up, tea cup in hand, you notice DO take note of what herbs and plants can be used for medicine for later, then you’re willing to pretend you didn’t notice.
[-] Everytime you take a nap, exhausted from being sick, DO hovers by your side. He’s there ready to get anything you need when you wake up.
[-] By the end of the night, feeling much better your head rests comfortably on DO lap. He gently runs his hands through your hair, easing your headache. And if, when you wake up tomorrow morning you notice DO with a runny nose and cough, then it only makes sense for you to return the favor.
Sun Wukong
[-] You're taken aback by how effortlessly he assumes the role of caretaker. And when you tease him about it in between coughing fits, he’s quick to remind you that he did look after the many cubs that lived in Mount Huaguo.
[-] Brings you fresh washcloth to put on your forehead, he’ll even go so far as to help you bathe if you let him. And with how gross you feel, you’re willing to take him up on that.
[-] He’s gentle with the way he washes your hair, makes sure the water is nice and warm to help you breathe better.
[-] Grabs the most comfortable clothes he owns and makes you wear it. He can’t have you wearing your dirty clothes, and if a blush covers his face when he sees you wearing his clothes, then well that’s just the sickness making you see things.
[-] Won’t leave your side no matter what. He’s sticking by you until you get better. And in the off chance that he does need to leave, Wukong makes sure to have a clone looking after you.
[-] Brings you fresh fruit for you to eat. Cuts it up into small pieces and hand feeds it to you. In his words, “A sick mortal like you should feel proud to have a king at your beck and call”.
[-] If you have to move around, he’s going to carry you. Won’t let you do anything even when you insist you can.
[-] When you’re not looking or taking a nap, you don’t notice how his brows furrow in worry. Maybe he should go and steal one of those immortal peaches or pills from the Celestial Court. He won’t do it now, but it’s something he’s going to be thinking about once you get better.
[-] And when the day is finally over, feeling rested and better, you comfortably lay your head on Wukong’s chest. The rise and fall of his breathing lulls you to sleep.
